If you haven’t heard, Sasha (and Carlo Traversi) are up on the Eiger attempting a dangerous summit attempt. I admire Sasha for all she has been able to accomplish and continue to strive for as she grows into climbing more and more. Here she’s hoping to be the first female to make this summit. Check out this CBS report that has a video for how she’s doing on the mountain. I’m super psyched for Sasha DiGiulian‘s #Eigersummit attempt and hope she pulls it off.
There is a really good youtube video she’s posted that looks like it’s the 4th in a series, too.
I have dreamt of climbing the #Eiger and still wish one day I will be on the mountain, and not just on the ground looking up or on the tram peering out. This photo was taken from my first visit back in 2011. I intentionally detoured my route from Lucerne to Munich, where I was heading to compete in an IFSC sanctioned climbing world cup, just so I could see the Eiger up close. I wanted desperately to be on the mountain but with little time for #climbing, I opted for the tourist tram experience and marveled at the wall from behind the infamous windows.
