Every company should offer a Free Wellness Health Check

I came into the office today and saw the sign ‘Walk-ins Welcome’ for a Free Wellness check. I remember this from last year and thought it would be a good idea to sign up today. It only took about 15 minutes from start to finish and I think it was well worth the time. I don’t know when the company started this but I’d do it every year if I was still working here.
First, you fill out some simple paperwork and then you get in line to begin the testing. Station 1 is your cholesterol check. They prick your finger, draw some blood and put the sample in a machine where the results will be returned some minutes later. Then, you proceed to station 2 where you get your blood pressure, body fat % and BMI measured. Finally, you wait a few moments for the results of your cholesterol lab and then you get a consultation with a nurse.
You take a Health Screening Results form home with you and you get a chance to upload your results into your personal Microsoft Health account for tracking.
For the cholesterol readings, they give you your total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides. It’s relatively painless and quick to get these results. And, it’s a quick and effortless way to check in on your health without the hassle of a doctor’s appointment.
Definitely a keeper!
