I put up a few pictures from the last few days out on my webshots photo site. There are a few in the Arapiles folder that I added. One of them is Mike after his big send on ‘Punks in the Gym.’ Another is from my 2nd full gear climb ‘Muldoon.’ (an absolute classic!) The rest of the photos were taken yesterday up at the Red Cave in the Grampians where the Patagonia crew was setting up for the dramatic climbs of Aussie legend Malcom H.B. Matheson (FA in ’93) and Canada’s Sonnie Trotter on the legendary 50 meter, all gear roof climb (grade 29, 13b) ‘Welcome to Barbados.’ Mike opened the day onsighting the climb in style (we had hiked up ahead of everyone to give mike a chance to climb and then get out of the way for the rest of the ‘crew’). The bushwacking business of the hike was dwarfed once in the cave (Malcom likened the size to a basketball stadium). It was also a gorgeous day, which made for tricky lighting for most shots in the cave, and perfect temps. A few of the pictures towards the end are taken as we hiked out, looking back at the cave from an arch on the opposite cliff.
