I recently read the article christian mentioned (in an earlier comment to a previous post) of Mike Doyle’s send of Lucifer at the Red River Gorge in the April edition of Rock & Ice. It’s a cool little piece about the development of the Red River Gorge and Mike’s big send (not to mention a small blurb of Monique Forrestier’s route Kaleidescope). I wrote an article on Mike’s send earlier (see http://www.geocities.com/audreysniezek/LuciferFalls.htm), which is pretty similar to the R&I piece in case you non-climbers aren’t rushing out to buy a copy to read. 🙂 I couldn’t get my article published because i was ‘too close to the source.’ If you want to read my take on his big day, check out my journal for a blow by blow (http://www.geocities.com/audreysniezek/journalentry1ClimbingatRRG.htm). Finally, what’s up with this Andrea? Well, maybe he has a girl in the wings (she’d have to be on the internet, i just can’t imagine how else he could find the time!), but in reality, it’s just a mistake from the editors of Rock & Ice who misprinted my name, in reference to his girlfriend, as Andrea. 😦
P.s. I took the original photo they published, which may have been cropped by mike to meet magazine size requirements.
